This project created a unique new kitchen in a 1920’s era Portland home. The owner’s vision of modern kitchen that was compatible with the older parts of the house was realized with concrete counters, grooved white cabinets, and a custom stainless hood surround. The kitchen is now more open to the dining room and has an expansive new view of the back yard. A new desk was also developed adjacent to the kitchen to house the family computer, cookbooks, files, as well as kids’ homework slots.  In conjunction with the new kitchen, the back yard was reimagined with built-in concrete seating, fire pit, hot tub and outdoor shower.
